Supporting the Community
Highline Food Bank
Page 2 BOOKS is a permanent central collection point for non-perishable food for our Highline Food Bank. We deliver your donations every Tuesday. There is no limit to the amount of food you can donate or to the number of times you can donate. Our Food Bank needs us all year! This is part of our on-going literacy initiative. If you are hungry, you can’t read or learn to read!
Kids Club
Children through the sixth grade, accompanied by an adult, can bring their gently used children’s books to Page 2 BOOKS and receive store credit to purchase more used children’s books. They pay no cash and the club is free. This is part of our on-going literacy initiative.
Auction Donations
We provide used books in fine condition to non-profit organizations to be sold at auctions and other book-loving events or fundraisers. Our local schools are often recipients of these donations, but churches and social agencies are also welcome to request donations. Anyone can ask for donations here.
Arts Community
Artists United members exhibit their work on our walls all year long. They change their exhibit each quarter. Their works are for sale and make great gifts for yourself or for your friends and family.
We are an advertiser in NWAA (Northwest Associated Arts) programs. This group supports teens and adults in musical endeavors.
Discover Burien Members
We have been members of Discover Burien since 2002 and have participated in various events including sponsoring Story Telling at the Strawberry Festival, participating in Clean Sweep and providing a booth at the Father’s Day Car Show.
Burien Parks and Recreation
We post community events and have their calendar and newsletter available each month. Be sure to check out their events.
SeattleWoman Magazine
This magazine focuses on the contributions of women and children around the Puget Sound area. It frequently features our local authors and children’s events. It is available each month and it’s free.
If you have an organization you’d like us to support, please let us know. We are always interested in supporting our community.
